Shaun Escayg, creative director on Naughty Dog‘s Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, has left the famed developer after seven years. Shaun joined the developer in the early development years of the critically acclaimed The Last of Us.

Shaun will head to Square Enix to develop the new Avengers game that was announced early last year. Marvel hinted that the game could be online.

The Avengers project is being designed for gamers worldwide and will be packed with all the characters, environments, and iconic moments that have thrilled longtime fans of the franchise. Featuring a completely original story, it will introduce a universe gamers can play in for years to come. More details on The Avengers project and other games will be announced in 2018.

It’s not clear which development team Shaun will join, as The Avengers Project is being co-developed by Tomb Raider developer Crystal Dynamics and Deus Ex developer Eidos-Montréal.
