Indie developer Strange Scaffold has released a new seven-minute gameplay video of its upcoming third-person shooter “El Paso, Elsewhere.” The video shows off the game’s Max Payne-like gun combat and its supernatural enemies, as well as flashy Bullet Time and shootdodge mechanics.

El Paso, Elsewhere hearkens back to the neo-noir-inspired third-person shooter gameplay pioneered by the first two Max Payne titles in the early 2000’s. The game deals with many of the same themes as Max Payne in its explorations of psychosis and guilt-incited violence, featuring the troubled protagonist James Savage in his quest to stop his former lover’s evil plans within a twisted, reality-defying motel. El Paso, Elsewhere is a supernatural neo-noir third-person shooter. Hunt werewolves, fallen angels, and other damned creatures in a vivid slow motion love letter to action classics. Somewhere in El Paso, Texas, a three-story motel gained another 46 stories… all below ground.
