Witchfire is a stylish first-person shooter from the Polish indie studio The Astronauts, the team behind the Vanishing of Ethan Carter. It features a dark fantasy take on the genre with the player shooting fantasy creatures with a range of different guns.

The game has been described by its developers as a skill-based shooter that focuses on the action so much that it skips cutscenes entirely. The game is also a Roguelite, seeing the player controlling a hunter armed by Vatican sorcerers to fight against an army of witches. Witchfire received a new gameplay trailer at Summer Game Fest, showing off its action for the very first time. The trailer was all in-game footage and gave a good look at the sort of encounters and weapons players can expect to use when the game launches in early access later this year.
