Xbox is getting quite a bit of attention this 2023, and according to some recent statistics published by the gaming company, the Xbox Games Showcase 2023 event held last month turned out to be the most-watched Xbox show ever. The event, held alongside a dedicated Starfield Direct showcase, garnered over 92 million views in total, a record high for Xbox. To put that into perspective, the number is a whopping 38% increase over last year’s Xbox show.
The Xbox Games Showcase event, which was held last June 11, included announcements, trailers, and updates for many high-profile games, including a much-anticipated trailer for upcoming fantasy RPG Fable, an announcement for Star Wars Outlaws, and a release date drop for Payday 3, among other things. Of the 27 games featured during the showcase, 13 of them came from studios directly under Xbox, and 21 of the titles will be available via Game Pass. A Starfield Direct was also held alongside the Xbox Games Showcase, providing ample time for Bethesda to showcase their upcoming sci-fi RPG, which is shaping up to be a massive game.
With Starfield’s launch later this September 6 on Xbox Series X|S and PC as well as other video game releases announced for the near future, it looks like Xbox gamers have much to look forward to on both console and PC.
