XDefiant Progression Changes Incoming, New Grinds That Are “More Challenging” to Be Added
For those playing XDefiant since launch, have you unlocked everything the game has to earn? If so, you’re not the only one. It seems multiple players have expressed concerns about it, and thankfully, the devs have acknowledged that XDefiant progression changes are indeed on the way.
This was confirmed by XDefiant Executive Producer Mark Rubin who announced this and mentioned they are listening to all the feedback around it:
Hey All! Just wanted to let you know that we have been listening to all of the feedback around progression and we have some changes coming. Details coming when I have more info.

In a reply to a player, Rubin also confirmed that new grinds will be added and these will be “more challenging.”
We will be adding new grinds that are more challenging. So its ok if not every grind is hard. But I like the way you think. Be the Souls of shooters. If we ever add a PVE mode that would be a good mantra.

As someone who’s level 70+ in the game already, there hasn’t been anything new to unlock for quite some time now aside from trying to get the weapon mastery skins. Speaking of which, the requirements for getting these were changed in the recent update, and is something Rubin explained as well.
For those tired of people not going after objectives, you’ll be glad to know that Team Deathmatch mode is incoming later today.
What kind of progression and grind do you want to see added? Personally, I’d be OK seeing more character skins that are tucked behind certain levels, or even player cards, emotes, etc. Let’s hope some of these new progression changes make its way to the game in time for its July 2 Season 1 launch.
