Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut Announced for Switch 2; Features New Cutscenes, Dubs, and More
[summaraize]
Yakuza 0 is getting a Director’s Cut, nearly a decade after its original release. This was revealed during today’s Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, with the title being confirmed as a Switch 2 timed-exclusive.
Here’s what’s coming in what is being called the “Definitive” edition of the game.
One of the Best Yakuza Games Just Became A Lot Better
We knew today would be filled with a bunch of surprises, but I can’t say I was expecting Yakuza 0 to show up again, let alone with brand-new content. Besides obviously having the original game, built to run on the Switch 2, Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut comes with brand-new content, including fully voiced English dubs and new cutscenes. Here’s a breakdown of everything we know is coming in this version.
- Never-before-scene cutscenes
- Red Light Raid online 4-player online mode with up to 60 unlockable characters
- French, Italian, German, Spanish Text
- English Voiceover
How exciting!
It seems like this version of the game is timed exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2, though SEGA has yet to confirm which other platforms it will arrive on.
As for those who recently played Like A Dragon: Pirate in Hawaii and never played Yakuza 0, you’ll be excited to know that the game features not only a full-length campaign for the long-time series’ protagonist Kiryu but also one for Goro Majima, the very star of Pirate in Hawaii. Oh yeah, it’s a good year for us Majima fans, and I cannot wait to get my hands on this. Luckily, it’s launching the same day as the Switch 2, which is on June 5.
