GUNNAR Optiks Alienware Bermuda Triangle Review – Out of This World
Alienware, a name many in the PC Gaming community no doubt recognize, has released a brand-new product. No, it’s not a new gaming laptop or desktop, but rather something you can actually wear yourself.
It’s not a new concept for Alienware, as we’ve seen them offer wearable clothing and other non-electronic gaming goods, but what some of you might not know is that they also offer some gaming-geared glasses through their partnership with GUNNAR Optiks.
Their latest pair, the Bermuda Triangle, is certainly a head turner.

Thanks to our friends at GUNNAR Optiks, we’ve gotten our hands on the latest ALIENWARE collaboration, the Bermuda Triangle.
Opting for a wraparound shield lens, the Bermuda Triangle keeps its design simple and clean, while also bringing a rather retro, yet futuristic look.
Looking at it, it definitely has that vibe of being an Alienware product, but it’s also a clear callback to the retrofuture envisioned in films such as The Fifth Element, and others from the early to late 90s.
The frame is made of plastic, with a liquid teal colorway that has a little green alien head (Alienware logo) on the side.
For those wanting a prescription lens, the unfortunate news here is that this doesn’t have that option. It’s the standard lens offering (65,35), so they either work or don’t for your eyesight, in which case I would recommend looking at another option.
I mean, it makes sense; it’s a single shield lens, which going for a prescription cut could make it unnecessarily expensive, especially for those who need different lenses for each eye. But I’m never against more options, so I would have loved to see it as one here, or at least more lens options.
For a carry case, you get a white pouch along with a cleaning cloth. Nothing too special that really screams Alienware.
Like the Cyberpunk 2077 DEX GUNNAR Optiks collab I reviewed recently, I really do like the shielded frame design that’s offered here. In the case of Alienware, they seem to be driving more of a daily lifestyle design, rather than something clearly from a video game product. The shielded design, of course, already makes it a big standout compared to your traditional two-lens glasses, but even then, just by looking at them, they seem to be more practical in everyday use, at least in terms of fashion.
Like any Gunnar Optiks glasses, this pair also blocks harmful blue light that you would get from a monitor screen. As an update, I’ve been using the CYBER PUNK 2077 DEX pair for months now, and can honestly say that my eyes have been less prone to eye strain. A win for me, as I’m staring at a PC screen for more than 8 hours a day with my daytime job. Of course, results will vary for everyone, but for me, I’m noticing improvements not only in strain prevention, but also in general screen clarity due to less straining.
Overall, at an MSRP of $90, they’re a great set of glasses. Even if you aren’t a big Alienware fan, the design really stands out without being too over-the-top, and it keeps the price point nice and low for something that definitely looks and feels different than traditional wear. It is a bit of a bummer that we can’t customize a prescription, but an understandable. Definitely a pair I’d recommend to anyone wanting something that looks both retro and futuristic.
