College Football 26 Latest Update 1.008 Adds Over 1,000 New Players
EA has rolled out a roster update for College Football 26 on Aug. 21, and this adds 1,000 new players to the college pigskin sim! The freshmen added should be live on all platforms by the time you read this.
This download should appear as College Football 26 update version 1.008 (complete: 01.008.000), and aside from the new players, this also slots in height and weight adjustments as well.

College Football 26 Update on Aug. 21 Adds Over 1,000 New Players via Patch 1.008
While we can’t list all the added new players, you can check them for yourself in the comprehensive player database, which houses over 10,300 real-life football players.
If you want to see the players sorted by team, TeamCrafters has a comprehensive database that splits it per team for an easier way to digest it. Note that while today’s update adds a sizable chunk of new players, it doesn’t include every one. Don’t be surprised to see some school’s players not be included in the roster update. Hopefully, that’s something that will be remedied in the future.
Also of note: it seems all added freshmen players are listed as one-star recruits, though it doesn’t seem to affect their skill cap or ratings.
Aside from the added athletes, some of the other changes from today’s patch include:
- Team logos are no on backplates
- Height and weight changes for select players (such as Florida State’s Ousmane Kormah and more)
If EA releases a different set of changelog for today, we’ll update the article with the info.
For those on the fence about whether to pick this up or not, our review speaks highly of this follow-up and how it avoids the dreaded sophomore curse.
