Techland has released hotfix 1.29.1 for Dying Light 2 across all platforms, and this brings fixes to technical aspects of the game.

Console gamers should see this download live today as Dying Light 2 update 1.97/1.097 and this is a small file to apply.

Dying Light 2’s Latest Hotfix Addresses UV Light Bug

Ths is a very short changelog, as Techland says this hotfix “fixes the UV light bug, various crashes, and freezes in http://mod.io maps screens gallery.”

Yep, that’s about it. There was a chunkier patch released last week that had the following major changes:

Balance Improvements

We’ve boosted XP gains from main missions, with a smaller boost to side missions, allowing players to access skills like heavy attacks, drop kicks, and slides more quickly. This adjustment enhances the pacing and enjoyment in the first 10 hours, providing a more engaging and diverse gameplay experience early on. By earning skills faster, players can dive into endgame content sooner, interacting with legend levels earlier in their journey.

UV Lightning Improvements

We’ve fine-tuned the parameters of UV light sources within the game to enhance visual coherence and alignment with the current color grading and material tones. Notably, the UV flashlight, both in-game and during cutscenes, has been updated from a pink-purple hue to a more subdued pale blue to better complement the game’s aesthetic. This change extends to all UV lights on the game map and within cutscenes, including interactive objects such as UV flares and UV flashlights. Please note that this patch focuses exclusively on lighting adjustments, and no other gameplay elements are being modified at this time.

Viral Rush – Fully Loaded

Prepare for heightened tension in Villedor as Virals become immune to sunlight, making them a threat around the clock. Players will face increased chances of encountering Virals during firearm use, weapon hits, and Screamer screams, with the periodic appearance of a special Viral with enhanced immunities for greater defense – though only basic Virals will spawn from other actions. To support survival efforts, all firearms now feature infinite ammo.

That’s not all, and you can check the complete patch notes for it here.
