Techland has released the latest Dying Light 2 update for consoles and PC, and while this doesn’t add new content, it does feature some nifty quality-of-life additions that will surely be appreciated by the community.

Console players will see this as Dying Light 2 update 1.079/1.79, and as version 1.24.2 on PC.

Expect a small download across all platforms for today’s Dying Light 2 patch.

The announcement from Techland mentions the following:

  • Adds auto backup system that aims to keep progress and save files safer
  • Adds skip button to intro text
  • Bug fixes

This is more of a hotfix than an actual client-side major update, but even so, it’s one that’s a good addition. Techland has not outlined the bug fixes included in the patch, but if we get a comprehensive list of fixes, we’ll add it to the changelog.

Next up for the franchise is the release of Dying Light: The Beast, which will be unleashed later this month. If you’re on PC, check out the PC requirements needed to run the game.

If you’re looking for another horror game to play now, Cronos: The New Dawn is set to be released tomorrow, and our review speaks highly of it, stating, “Cronos: The New Dawn might not revolutionize the genre, but it’s still one journey worth taking.”
