Elden Ring New Update 1.23 Released on Aug. 21 for Patch 1.16.1, Expect Bug Fixes
FromSoftware has a new patch out for Elden Ring on all platforms, and this is for patch 1.16.1! This is a minor update that resolves bugs with the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC.
If you’re on consoles, this should appear as Elden Ring update version 1.23/1.017.001, and this is a small download.

Elden Ring’s New Update Is a Minor Patch for Bug Fixes via Version 1.23
Update: The official changelog is out. Here’s what’s new per FromSoftware:
Bug Fixes
- Fixed a bug where the wrong affinity or status ailments could be applied to some weapons when performing specific actions.
- Fixed a bug where players could bypass being blocked by another player on any platform through unauthorized methods.
This is a super-small update, with file sizes coming in at just 11 MB on PC, and under 1 GB for consoles. The patch was released as part of server downtime, so expect that you won’t be able to login until 6 am ET/3 am PT/6 pm HKT.
While FromSoftware hasn’t released what has changed specifically just yet, the studio has mentioned that this is a minor update that “only brings bug fixes.” With that in mind, keep those expectations in check, Tarnished.
