Final Fantasy 7 Remake update 1.003 is now out on PlayStation 5 and PC! This is a minor update, meaning you shouldn’t expect any new features.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake Update 1.003 Sadly Doesn’t Introduce PS5 Pro Support
Despite its sequel, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, receiving official PS5 Pro support, Square Enix isn’t planning to add support for the first part of the remake trilogy. At least, not with this surprise update, as the studio confirmed that it’s simply for fixes relating to the DualSense controller.
New patches for Final Fantasy VII Remake and Rebirth are now available to download.
Update to Remake PS5 v1.003, Epic Games Store/Steam v1.005, and Rebirth v1.080 resolve issues where the DualSense Wireless Controller’s vibration was not working correctly.

I know—it was wishful thinking on our part to hope we’d get PS5 Pro support. It doesn’t help that this update dropped on Christmas Eve, which could have made for a surprise gift for fans. Oh well, there’s always next time, though we’re starting to think the first game won’t receive any PS5 Pro enhancements like its sequel. Only time will tell time.
Oh, and in case you haven’t heard, the PC version of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is arriving next month! It will be available on Steam and Epic Games Store starting January 23.
