Fortnite Update 1.000.216 Released on March 20
Here’s an odd occurrence you don’t see every day: it seems Epic Games has released a new Fortnite client update, but it’s only available for current-gen consoles.
Given we just received the massive Chapter 7 Season 2 update yesterday, don’t expect much from today’s patch outside of fixes.
For those on current-gen consoles, this download will show up as Fortnite update 1.000.216.
Fortnite Update Released on March 20 as a Follow-Up Patch to Showdown Content
Update: Epic Games has released what got fixed in today’s patch, stating, “A new ~2 GB patch is available on PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Android to resolve several stability issues. This patch will be released for iOS, Google Play, and Switch as soon as we can next week.”
Epic also adds that the file download might be bigger for PC players, and they are investigating the cause.
For now, Epic Games has not released any changelog for today’s update, and we wouldn’t be surprised if they never do.
In the meantime, we’ve included the issues noted in the official Fortnite Trello board.
GENERAL TOP ISSUES
In development
- Nintendo Switch players encountering storage space issues
- Locker tab may be missing when returning to the Lobby.
- Overlay Contrail doesn’t appear in the Locker.
BATTLE ROYALE/BLITZ ROYALE/RELOAD/OG TOP ISSUES
Fixed in Future Game Update
- [Nintendo Switch 1] Tournaments temporarily disabled on Nintendo Switch 1 while we fix a crash bug.
- Chaos Reloader Shotgun issues with reloading and firing.
- [Reload] Morphite weapons may display inaccurate ammo count on the Quick Bar.
- Pickaxes may appear incorrectly after being revived or rebooted.
- Season X Umbrella visual effects issues.
Investigating
- All Quests may appear as completed when returning to the Lobby.
- Players may get stuck under the terrain when using the Particle Accelerator while affected by the Overdrive Grenade.
- [Reload] The “Reboot” action may not work if mapped to a custom bind.
- [Controller] Crouch and Confirm Edit may trigger at the same time with custom controls.
LEGO FORTNITE TOP ISSUES
Investigating
- Swivels might break builds
- No notification for unlocking Charm recipe
- ‘F’ key conflict: unable to interact with objects.
- A prompt to flip a vehicle no longer appears when a vehicle is flipped.
- Isabelle won’t talk to players while interacting with the blackboard.
- The Wasp 8000 Motorcycle may float after hopping off while in motion.
- Storm King’s Weak Points and Rift Spawners are immune to damage when an enemy is around.
- Invisible collision in Phase 1 after being eliminated in Phase 2 of the Storm King fight.
- Enemies’ health bars may not appear at times.
- Stuck when exiting the Crusher.
- Bottom of HUD can disappear after using macrobinoculars.
In Development
- Lag/hitching issues in the Storm King fight
- Players may get stuck in a cannon if its damaged or falls into water while operating it.
- Consumable buff timers can be overwritten when eating another consumable with a buff
- There is no indication of which direction some furniture is being placed
SAVE THE WORLD TOP ISSUES
Investigating
- The Ancient’s Launcher fires instantly after aiming.
- The progress circle animation does not appear around the “Vote” button when using a controller.
FORTNITE MOBILE TOP ISSUES
Investigating
- Controller bindings cannot be customized on Mobile.
In Development
- The Showdown progression bar is currently missing.
Fixed in Future Game Update
- Text chat is currently not available in Fortnite OG matches.
FORTNITE FESTIVAL TOP ISSUES

- Eliminated players may be able to continue playing in Battle Stage.
- Keytar might become invisible during the second song
- “Choose a Song” Button Issue on Mobile
- Visual issue on Google Pixel 10 Pro devices

- The Weekly Quest progress tracker may not update after progress is made.
Fixed in Future Game Update
- Visual XP mismatch on the Daily Repeatable Quests screen.
