Update: Here’s what got changed according to the studio:

Dear Travelers,

A version update for PS4™ and PS5™ was released at 2023/07/14 15:00 (UTC+8). This was to fix an issue where the screen would go black after “WARNING: READ BEFORE PLAYING” appeared, preventing users from launching the game on certain HDR-enabled PlayStation® devices. The post-update game version is 3.8.1.

Sadly, it looks like mihoYo has not released any patch notes for this PS5 version of Genshin Impact today. This isn’t the big 4.0 update that will be available for all platforms this August 16. It’s possible today’s patch is just for bug fixes or something minor for the PS5 only.

Anyway, we will update this post as soon as we can if mihoYo decides to post proper patch notes for today’s PS5 update for the game. The last update to come to the game was version 3.8 and this included loads of new content and more.
