Metal Slug Tactics Update 1.05 on Consoles Combines Two Hefty Patches in One

Dotemu [summaraize]has released a major patch for Metal Slug Tactics on all consoles, and this combines the two previous patches released for PC (one in December, another one in January) for  one mega-patch.

Players will see this as Metal Slug Tactics update 1.05, which combines patch 1.0.2 and 1.0.3 into one. There are many bug fixes listed, so read on.

METAL SLUG TACTICS: PATCH 1.0.2

Balancing & Feature

  • Reworked Clark’s Argentine Backbreaker to differentiate it from Stargazer. Now Clark
    rushes towards the enemy before hurling them.
  • Clark’s Argentine Backbreaker costs -1 ADR (all 3 levels)
  • You can now give up your current run at any time. This triggers the Defeat screen,
    grants currency rewards, and then takes you back to the Character Selection screen.
  • Rebind for Camera Move (WASD) added
  • Rebind for cursor superposition cycling added. Default keys: page up/page down
  • Protect Miners is now easier for the first 3 difficulties, lowered the count of required miners to be kept alive to complete the mission
  • Trevor’s Shinobi I & II now cost +1 ADR
  • Trevor’s Shinobi III now doesn’t grant a bonus action if the target dies
  • Trevor’s Flying Blade now doesn’t grant a bonus action if the target dies (all 3 levels)
  • Trevor’s Flying Blade now has a reduced launch range, reduced damage for level 3, and increased ADR cost for level 1

Feedback & Interface

  • The Desynchronized feedback on bosses is now triggered after all sync attacks have
    been performed
  • Increased screen size for Special Action upgrade popups
  • Improved AOE now display in popups
  • Enemies’ level is now displayed in their popup
  • Profiles do not use display names anymore, nor they require a keyboard for
    creation
  • The 3 available profile slots are displayed explicitly

Bug Fixes & Performance Optimizations

  • Lightning Idol now deals damage on high ground
  • Explosive props destroyed in a Sync attack now correctly apply their damage
  • Players can now sync on targets hit by an explosive prop
  • Syncs, including destructible crates, are now properly previewed
  • The Convoy is not hurt by Geyers
  • The Convoy does no longer open Sarcophagi
  • Fixed the “Spy” achievement
  • When moving an enemy with a Special Action in a mine’s AOE, the mine is now only
    triggered if the enemy is not killed by the action, or if another enemy is in the AOE
  • Enemy Chaser now correctly predicts sync attacks
  • Fixed Special Actions that could not hit Dragon Nosuke : Dynamite Punch, Enemy
    Chaser, Galactica Phantom
  • Fixed pathfinding bug after room transitions in Dragon Nosuke’s mission
  • The game now keeps backups for save files if the game/computer crashes during the
    save process
  • Sync attacks are no longer previewed for units killed by the original attack
  • Spotlight II & III AOEs should now correctly display in popups
  • Fixed an issue for which delayed Hits for the Rebel Tower were sometimes not correctly restored on reload or reset turn
  • Rewards drawn in the Outpost are now saved and won’t change on reload
  • Incubator animations now play correctly
  • Special Actions cannot break anymore when opening the Pause Menu during
    preview
  • The destroyed Rebel Tower now stays on screen
  • The camera now starts at the correct position when reloading the Dragon Nosuke mission
  • The “War Machines” achievement now correctly triggers when defeating Dragon Nosuke
  • Target statuses don’t count for the “A Sister” achievement
  • Combustion triggers if a sync kills an enemy
  • Units in Slugs are not killed during room transitions
  • Correctly initialize reinforcements when selecting another difficulty
  • Destroy idols objective counter
  • Hide the enter slug UI “IN” feedback after destruction
  • Cannot one-shot Abul Abbas and Allen O’Neil by invoking slugs on their position
  • Don’t play idle for empty slugs on continue
  • Lingering character visual when resetting a turn with a character inside a slug
  • Alice is now correctly restored on continue
  • Added bleeding effect description
  • Fixed all occurrences of several music tracks playing at the same time
  • Improved performance when there are Delayed Hits
  • Improved performance for Jupiter King
  • Improved performance when playing with a controller
  • Improved performance when displaying units range
  • Improved general performances in mission

Sounds

  • Polish, resync, and added missing SFX for
    ○ Leona’s Skills and her afterimages (attack type/hits)
    ○ Nadia’s Skills
    ○ Trevor’s Skills
    ○ Clark’s Skills
    ○ Ralf’s Skills
  • Enhanced “no damage” feedback
  • Mummy players now no longer trigger Flamethrower or grenade sound upon weapon
    selection
  • Fixed announcer randomly not saying “you’re great” on level up

UX:

  • Preview of Special Actions superior levels on Level Up and in Barracks

Features:

  • Refusing a Strategic Asset grants 5 coins
  • New weapon mods that change the user’s Max HP
  • Improved the algorithm that randomly draws missions in a biome

Balancing:

  • Trevor’s Flying Blade II & III now cost 3 ADR
  • Trevor can now target himself with Nanoshroud

Bug Fixes:

  • There cannot be several weapon mods of the same upgrade chain when choosing a reward
  • Eri’s Secret Service achievement could not be triggered with Clark’s Jump into Action, Tarma’s Final Crash and Ralf’s Overhead
  • Trevor’s Flying Blade sometimes did not inflict damage when the target was too far
  • Trevor’s Jet Lag reduced Special Actions costs by 2 instead of 1
  • Trevor’s Nanoshroud applies the correct bonus movement effects
  • Characters who died while in Mummy status played their idle animation on the next turn and appeared alive
  • Some effects were not properly applied or removed after Aeshi Nero’s Laser and Bite attacks (e.g. Protection status was not removed)
  • Path preview was not properly rendered on top of the map, mainly where there was a Jump
  • Path preview Jump was sometimes vertically misplaced
  • Path preview was improved for big jumps (eg. when landing on a Leaf Pile)
  • Fixed path preview for the Slugnoid
  • Fio’s Helping Hand passive did not work for some of her Special Actions
  • Fio’s Extra Motivation passive did not work for some of her Special Actions
  • Fio’s Field Dressing did not always correctly preview the healing bonus
  • Fio’s Germi Style could trigger Fio’s weapon’s effects even if no sync was triggered
  • Hid the Rewards panel on JupiterKing’s mission
  • Miners are not affected by Nadia’s electric mines
  • Slugs are not affected by Nadia’s electric mines
  • Brawn’s bonus can only be activated once per turn per unit
  • Brawn’s bonus was not activated if the attack triggered a revenge hit
  • After gaining a bonus action, the unit’s UI was in some cases not properly updated
  • Improved Paqar SFX integration when swapping idols
  • Fixed Paqar’s idols hit and destroy animations
  • Paqar’s destroyed idols were not correctly respawned on Reset Turn
  • Paqar’s introduction can be fast-forwarded
  • Fixed Slugs Popup (Armor and Fuel label)
  • Fixed the Tutorial reset button
  • Fixed Trevor’s animations in the HQ
