Minecraft Update on December 16 Delivers Patch 1.038
Mojang has released a new Minecraft update on December 16, available on all platforms. For console gamers, this will show up as Minecraft update version 1.038 (complete version 1.038.000), and this should be a relatively small download.
Given we just received the Mounts of Mayhem content update earlier this month, expect this new title update to primarily be focused on bug fixes.

Fixes
General
- The Adventuring Time achievement no longer unlocks after visiting fewer than 17 biomes on PC (MCPE-156784)
Mounts of Mayhem
Spear
- Increased the duration during which a Spear can apply knockback while charging
- Charge attack animations now align more closely with the Spear’s gameplay phases (Engaged, Tired, Disengaged) for improved visual feedback
Marketplace
- Fixed a bug that could cause the Escape key to not return to the main menu after searching the Marketplace (MCPE-232316)
Technical Updates
API Infra
- Fixed a bug that could trigger a ‘Block’ error code during level load or world creation when using multiple add-ons (MCPE-232978)
Graphical
- Fixed UI textures looking incorrect on Switch when loading add-ons or connecting to servers
Unless another hotfix is released by Mojang, expect this to be the last patch for Minecraft for 2025.
