Monster Hunter Wilds Day One Update Version 1.000.020 Drops, Here’s When You Can Start Playing
[summaraize]
Days before the latest Monster Hunter game into the, uh, wild, Capcom has released the Monster Hunter Wilds day one update version 1.000.020. If you’re buying the game digitally, you should automatically download this patch as part of the overall game.
The download file, clocking in at 4.7GB, will be much bigger for those who buy the disc version since they’ll be updating the game from an older version.
Monster Hunter Wilds Has. Day One Update That Will Show as Download Version 1.000.020
Per our previous report, the day one update will include graphical modes.
Monster Hunter Wilds PS5 Pro support will include PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR), which will enhance the resolution via upscaling. Though Capcom hasn’t detailed whether the game will run at 120fps on the PS5 Pro, they confirmed that players can prioritize either performance or ray tracing in modes that will be part of the day-one update.
Ray trace mode will include ray trace reflections, which you can compare in the side-by-side image above. This mode will be restricted to 4K (rending resolution 3072 x 1728) at 30fps, while the performance mode will allow the game to be played at 4K (rendering resolution 1920 x 1080) at 60fps.
There is a third mode called “Balanced mode” that will also be available for PS5 Pro players. This mode balances the two modes, allowing the game to run in 4K (rendering resolution 1920 x 1404) at 40fps.
Players will not notice gameplay changes or bug fixes since they will not have a comparison point to begin with.

If you’re unsure whether to pick the game up or not, go check out our review where we state, “Monster Hunter Wilds is a great entry in a fantastic franchise. While there are a lot of mechanics to consider, the game’s tutorials should help most new players to quickly acclimate and join the upper ranks of hunters in no time. A full-fledged, cinematic, occasionally surreal, campaign whisks players from biome to biome, with a meaty play time of 40-50 hours just for the main story, and probably hundreds of more hours to get to 100% completion, there is plenty of content to keep hunters entertained for a while to come.”
