The Witcher 3 Remastered Hotfix 5.01b Released on PS5 as 5.000.500
After a fix-filled patch for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered was pushed out on consoles and PC last week, CD Projekt RED is back this week with a new one just for the PS5 and PS5 Pro.
Called the hotfix 5.01b patch, the download will appear as The Witcher 3 Remastered update 5.000.500, and it is a minor game update.
Read on for the known fix and also the issues that still persist.
The Witcher 3 Remastered Update on PS5 Rolled Out on October 13
Per CDPR, today’s patch: “This update introduces various stability improvements to help ensure a more reliable experience while witchering across the Continent.”
Yep, that’s about it. Nothing specific was mentioned, unless the developers forgot to include any actual changelog
Unfortunately, this patch doesn’t seem to have fixed the crashing issues on PS5/PS5 Pro. It might have mitigated some, but it seems it’s still happening to players.
One thing this patch seemed to have fixed is the lighting inconsistencies on the base PS5, with one player stating it looks much closer to the next-gen version and the white filter is gone now.
Outside of that, there are still issues affecting the game and not just the PS5 version. Some of these issues include:
- Frame drops, stuttering, and inconsistent performance – Happens during combat and exploration, and happens when in Performance Mode and Ray Tracing Mode. Latest fix for this didn’t take, sadly.
- HDR, lighting, and brightness inconsistencies – Might have been fixed with today’s patch on PS5, but we can’t verify it’s fixed on all platforms.
- Flickering shadows, unstable textures, and visual glitches – These include shadows appearing and disappearing, textures shifting during camera movement, unusual glowing outlines around characters, and flickering clouds. Some players have also reported objects floating in midair.
- Crashes during gameplay or loading saves – Mostly on PS5.
- Slow merchant inventory loading – Happens to some players, and not to some.
For Switch 2 players, the 5.01 patch is still in the works but is scheduled to arrive “as soon as possible,” though there’s no release date yet.
Expect more patches to be released, or at least we’re hoping more are released to fix these issues.
