Where Winds Meet New Update 1.008

Developer Everstone has pushed out the latest title update for free-to-play hit Where Winds Meet and it’s live now on consoles and PC. Players will see this download appear as Where Winds Meet update 1.008 (complete version 1.008.000), and this is another minor update aimed at fixes rather than adding new content.

Chief among the fixes should be the audio bug affecting consoles, though don’t expect it to be fixed in one update.

There are also upcoming UI optimizations planned for consoles and PC, which we’ve included below as well.

Where Winds Meet December 2 Update Live on Consoles and PC as Version 1.008

Audio Issues

Bug Fixes:

1. Fixed incorrect voice lines in the Jianghu Journey CG.

2. Fixed the issue of missing music during the cutscene: Reforging Coins.

3. Fixed audio-visual sync issues in some scenes.

4. The issue of missing sound issue on Consoles will be addressed gradually this week.

We’ve released a new batch of dubbing and are addressing audio-visual sync issues. Expect more dubbing and voice fixes to be available this week!

Upcoming UI Optimizations:

1. Dialogue: Subtitle optimization by fixing text overflow and adjusting the font size.

2. Text in the open-world: optimizes text display to avoid too much text from appearing at once.

3. Kaifeng Tour Map interface: Localizes into multiple languages.

4. Healer interface: optimizes layout and display.

5. Equipment Tuning interface: Fixes text overflow and optimizes the localization for the musical notes: Gong, Shang, Jiao, Zhi, and Yu.

The UI optimizations above are expected to be implemented on January 9 with the V1.2 update. In the meantime, we’ve received feedback about the menu being too complicated and difficult to navigate. We’re also working on these improvements and hope to roll them out soon.

A mid-December patch is planned to address the latency issues affecting single-player mode. Everstone outlined some key improvements they plan to roll out, though it doesn’t appear these are included in today’s patch.

  • For network connectivity, we’ve fixed the routing issue that caused some players in Europe, the Middle East, and certain regions to be connected to non-local servers, resulting in high latency. We will continue to monitor post-fix data and player reports to ensure optimal performance.
  • The issue of high network latency in Online mode has been resolved, and the issue in Solo mode is expected to be fixed in the mid-December update.
  • Regarding text localization and voiceovers, we’ve revised many translations to make them more idiomatic and easier to understand. Additionally, we’ve optimized dubbing and subtitles in various story quests. We will continue to refine the localization of the game to make the Jianghu more immersive.
  • In terms of the interface, we’ve improved the beginner tutorial, enhanced character customization, and refined English clues for puzzle-solving quests.

There are also PS5 improvements planned affecting the frame rate, stability and visual quality of the game. Upcoming planned features have also been outlined, and this includes PSSR support for the PS5 Pro.

Once another patch is out, expect it here on MP1st
