Wild Hearts Update 1.004 Patch Notes | Wild Hearts Feb. 21 Patch Notes:

Update: EA has posted a new blog post regarding today’s patch.

Good news, hunters! A patch has just been deployed to PC today that addresses the following issues, including fixes to address frame rate performance:

  • Fixed an issue where certain high-end CPUs were being unintentionally capped. High-end PC’s should see some performance improvements now.
  • Fixed an issue where some sounds were not playing or were being delayed, causing the audio to stack. This ‘audio stacking’ issue was also causing strain on players’ CPU. As a result of this fix, players should see performance improvements across the board. The workaround using 5.1/7.1 audio is no longer necessary on PC.
  • Setting default resolution to 16:9 1080p on first boot. The recommended spec for WILD HEARTS is aligned to a 16:9 1080p display, for first time users this will now be the default setting. You can change this setting to the resolution of your choice in-game.
  • Fixed render issue (disco lights) when using an AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX.
  • Fixed an issue on the save/load screen that could result in corrupted save data.

In addition to that, EA mentioned that they are getting the audio and save/load fixes released on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S next week!

  • A CPU threading issue has been fixed. We are seeing significantly improved performance on high end PC’s.
  • AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX visual artefacts fixed. Also added the option to turn off reflections in the settings menu.
  • The default resolution when launching the game for the first time will now be 1080p. We discovered many users are running higher resolutions than the recommended spec can safely support. We are adjusting the recommended spec guidance online and will continue to optimize in this area. If you are running the game comfortably at higher resolutions, you can continue to do so and select alternate resolutions from the settings menu.
  • Additional stability and bug fixes
Additional issues tracked that will be fixed in a later patch:
  • A fix is being worked on for audio de-sync issues. For now, if you experience this, rebooting the game will often remedy the problem.
  • Rare PS5 crash when booting the game.

More by EA regarding the audio issues:

We thank you all for your patience and while you wait for a permanent fix, we have confirmed reports that in some cases, switching your “output settings” in the in-game Audio settings from Stereo to 71.ch/5.1ch  can yield performance improvements for some.

This workaround doesn’t work in all cases and players already running recommended spec at over 60fps are unlikely to see an improvement but while we investigate and work on the patch, please try it yourself and see if it improves performance for you.
