Call of Duty Elite Shuts Down This Friday, Members Get Double XP

As of this Friday, February 28 at approximately 10am PST, Call of Duty Elite’s services will officially shut down.

The service that was first introduced near the end of Call of Duty: Black Ops’ life cycle went on to heavily support Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 in 2011. With minimal support from Treyarch’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, the service was eventually phased out and replaced by the official Call of Duty App in tandem with the release of Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty: Ghosts in 2013.

To commemorate Call of Duty Elite’s retirement this Friday, Activision is offering two hours of Call of Duty: Ghosts Double XP to any one who has logged into the service since January 1, 2014. According to the company, the bonus Double XP will show up in your Call of Duty: Ghosts profile “soon”.
