Black Ops 2 Update 1.08/1.008 Fires Out on August 19
Following last week’s patch by Iron Galaxy for Black Ops 2 that added an extra layer of security on the PS4 and PS5 versions, the port developers have today released Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 update 1.08/1.008 on PS4 and PS5 respectively.
It seems today’s patch has more to do with Modern Warfare 4, and how Activision is capitalizing on Black Ops 2’s popularity to try and snag some new players for this year’s Call of Duty game.

As far as we’re aware, the update just added the pre-order menu option and nothing else, which is kind of in poor taste given how many security issues the game currently has.
So far, neither Activision nor the devs have shared anything about the update, but if we receive anything, we’ll let our readers know
Some of the items we wish Iron Galaxy added include:
- Field-of-view option
- Higher resolution support
- Deadzone settings
Just for reference, last week’s update added the following:
▪️ Additional security updates.
▪️ Added toggle for Depth of Field visual effects in Custom Games.
▪️ Various UI fixes, including one for an issue that could occur after adding friendly & enemy bots in Custom Games.
▪️ Addressed a rare issue that could occur in Free for ▪️ All if the final kill was with a Combat Axe.
▪️ UI setting options now adjust automatically if platform level UGC settings are enabled.
Speaking of Modern Warfare 4, its beta is set to kick off soon, and we’re giving away early access codes.
