To say that Star Wars Battlefront 2 has turned things around might be an understatement at this point, as developer DICE hs dished out constant post-launch free content and updates, with the most recent one being The Rise of Skywalker content drop that ties in into the recently released film. Well, it seems the Star Wars Battlefront 2 weekly player count has reflected this support from DICE too, as it’s now confirmed officially that it’s rising!
Dennis Brännvall, Franchise Design Director of Star Wars Battlefront for EA, has announced that the Battlefront 2 weekly player count has now beaten the numbers for January 2018, which is just a few months in back when it was released in November 17, 2017!
Fun one, we're now beating our weekly player numbers going back to January 2018. Not quite launch numbers but still very impressive #battlefront

While it might not be as high as launch player count numbers, the fact that a game managed to get its player count up again after two years is still impressive.
For those playing the Star Wars shooter, DICE has today launched triple XP as well! This applies to all game modes and runs from December 24 up to January 6, 2020, according to the Battlefront 2 forums events notifier.
Are you surprised by Battlefront 2’s resurgence? According to EA, the two DICE-developed Battlefront games have already combined for 33 million copies sold, and this doesn’t even include this holiday’s numbers, or the recently released Celebration Edition. Not bad for a game that made the studio hit “rock bottom.”
A company that listens to their fans getting a return on its investment? Merry Christmas!
