This is certainly good news for Ubisoft fans on Stadia, who will see their purchases remain intact albeit in a different form. Ubisoft+ subscribers will have to wait to see what fate awaits them.
Ubisoft+ is a subscription service that allows players access to the entire Ubisoft game catalogue. Currently, Ubisoft+ subscribers get added access to cloud versions of these titles on Google Stadia and Amazon Luna for no additional cost.
One could assume that Ubisoft+ subscribers who have been playing Ubisoft games on Stadia will lose both access to the games (on account of never having bought them) and all their progress as well when Stadia shuts down, unless Ubisoft steps in. It is unknown what exactly the company has in mind, though.
We’ll keep our readers updated with any further developments.
