Ubisoft: Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced Has Already “Exceeded Annual Expectations,” Just Two Weeks In
Just a day after release, Ubisoft was already touting Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced’s success. As it turns out, it’s a bigger win for the company than we thought.
In today’s financial earnings report, Ubisoft talked big about Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, and how the title has now sold through over 3.5 million copies already.
Ubisoft is also happy that gamers are pleased with the title as well.
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced Has Already Met Its Annual Expectations in a Mere 14 Days
In the report by Ubisoft, it said, “The strong launch of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag: Remix by Vantage Studios in early July is an encouraging proof point. The game is the highest-rated Assassin’s Creed title since the original Black Flag, and we are very pleased with the praise it has received from players. Two weeks in, the title has already exceeded the annual expectation we had.”
Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot continued, “I would like to warmly thank the teams whose talent and dedication brought it to life. This launch tells us two things. First, it’s a reflection of the enduring strength of Assassin’s Creed brand. Second, it’s an illustration of the early benefits of the ongoing transformation and commitment to deliver very high-quality experiences, notably enabled by the revamped cutting-edge proprietary engine, Anvil Engine.”
I guess this means we should see a whole lot of Assassin’s Creed remakes and remasters in the future, then.
In related news, the game’s first update is out, and there’s a lot more of it on the way, as the game’s director confirmed New Game+ and other quality-of-life features are already being tested. If you’ve yet to play it, check out our review to see why this is a worthy remaster.
In the same earnings report, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot mentioned that PlayStation discontinuing discs will not disturb the games industry that much.
