While Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced launched to glowing critical reviews and seems to be on track to be one of the best-selling games in the franchise, the developers aren’t done just yet.

While Black Flag Resynced is a single-player game, the developers plan to support it post-release. Fans shouldn’t expect live-service-type support, but the developers are looking to add new features and more in the coming months…that is, if players will still play it once Grand Theft Auto 6 releases.

Take-Two Interactive’s open-world crime-focused game is quite possibly the most anticipated game release of this console generation, or even the last decade, which means a lot of games will be ignored once it’s released.

This is something game director Richard Knight hopes doesn’t happen.

AC Black Flag Resynced Post- Release Support on the Way, Including New Game+

In a video interview, Knight was asked about plans to support Black Flag Resynced post-release. In his answer, Knight also pleaded with gamers to play the game even when GTA 6 is released.

Knight said, “I mean, I can’t say anything officially, but you know, it doesn’t feel like a crazy bet. I mean, we definitely need to support the game…We need to, you know, fix bugs. Sorry for anyone running into bugs. They hurt. They’re painful for us, too. And we do want to add some quality-of-life stuff. So, I mean, it’s a pretty reasonable guess. Also, please play us when GTA 6 comes out.”

It’s a funny, albeit honest, realization that a lot of games will be forgotten once GTA 6 is released.

In the same interview, Knight mentioned that New Game+ is something they are working on right now. Knight adds that Assassin’s Creed Shadows had it, so it’s a “low-risk feature” for the devs, though they can’t commit on a day and date yet on when it’ll be available.

Another thing Knight confirmed being worked on is a blowpipe and how it can be hidden from Edward’s back. Knight confirmed one of the senior programmers is working on this already, though again, no timetable on when we’ll see it implemented in the game.

For those who played AC Shadows and liked how the catch ledge system worked when it was added by the devs, rejoice! That seems to be something the developers are also looking to add to Resynced in the future. Knight mentioned that they are testing this feature in Resynced, and it “should work”

The catch ledge game mechanic is like a parkour safety net, for those unfamiliar with it. Say a player miscalculates a jump or slips off a roof, players can hold a directional input toward a nearby wall or structure to automatically grab the ledge mid-fall.

The developers are also looking to add side objectives to missions like in Assassin’s Creed Mirage, though again, there’s no timetable for when we’ll see this come to fruition (if at all).

One thing players might not see in Black Flag Resynced is hidden blade combat. Knight has heard the community’s demand for it, but they can’t make any promises.

Well, there you go, there’s a lot more Black Flag Resynced content to chew on in the coming weeks and months. With how Ubisoft supported AC Shadows with not just DLC but also new features and free content post-release, fans should have a lot to look forward to for Black Flag Resynced — provided the don’t drop the game the moment GTA 6 is available.
