Marathon, Destiny 2 Servers Down on May 26; Bungie Investigating Issues
Fans of Bungie’s extraction shooter Marathon and even the studio’s looter shooter, Destiny 2, if you can’t log in to both games today, it’s not just you, as there are issues to both games’ servers.
Yes, both Marathon and Destiny 2 are down on May 26, and we can confirm this is happening to both console and PC, and it is a global outage.
Bungie is aware of this and has issued a statement about it.
Marathon, Destiny 2 Down With Sign-In Issues on May 26
On X (formerly Twitter), Bungie announced, “We are aware of issues affecting Sign On with Destiny, Destiny 2 and Marathon. Our team is currently investigating.”
So far, the studio hasn’t given an update on both games’ status, but we should hear something later today. Also of note, Marathon is expected to go down today as part of a new title update roll-out. We’re unsure if this unexpected outage will affect the scheduled server maintenance.
It’s been a rough month to be a Bungie fan, as not only is live content support for Destiny 2 ending next month, but a report surfaced stating that Destiny 3 isn’t even in active development.
If we get another update from Bungie, we’ll update the article with the information. For those that can (or can’t) connect to both Marathon and Destiny 2, leave a comment below and let us know which platform you’re on and where you’re connecting from.
