Report: Insomniac’s Wolverine Sabretooth Actor Is Part of GTA 6 Cast
While Grand Theft Auto 6 might be this year’s — or even this generation’s — biggest release, PlayStation gamers also have another big game to look forward to in 2026, and that’s Insomniac Games’ Marvel’s Wolverine.
Believe it or not, the two games share something in common, and it’s that a voice actor who plays a big enough role to be credited appears in both AAA titles.
Marvel’s Wolverine’s Sabretooth Actor Is Also in GTA 6 as a Supporting Character
According to actor Brett Gipson’s resume, not only is he voicing Sabretooth in Marvel’s Wolverine in a lead role, but he’s also voicing a character named “Ellis” in Grand Theft Auto 6 in a supporting capacity.
Given how Rockstar Games has been very secretive about Grand Theft Auto 6’s plot, it’s hard to pinpoint just how big of a role Gipson’s character will take in the game. For all we know, Ellis might be one of the NPC’s players interact with throughout their adventure, or it could be someone with a big enough role that they’ll be featured prominently in the storyline.
Gipson has been active not just in games but also in films and has even voiced Jim Hopper in the TV show Stranger Things: Tales from ’85.
We’re expecting Marvel’s Wolverine to be Gipson’s breakout video game performance, given how the character is very important in Wolverine’s lore — especially as the main villain in most comic book arcs. Speaking of the game, what we’ve seen of it this month showcases the game’s brutality and even shows us the multitude of characters from the X-Men universe that will be part of Logan’s debut outing by Insomniac.
Marvel’s Wolverine will be released on September 15 exclusively on the PS5, while Grand Theft Auto 6 will be released on November 19 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Pre-orders for the highly anticipated blockbuster kick off on June 25, and we’re expecting a trailer to be released alongside it, and the game’s actual price. Who knows? Maybe Gipson’s Ellis character might make an appearance there?
