Marathon Down on July 9 to Bring Update 1.1.0.5

While Bungie just released a new Marathon update earlier this week, the developers are rollig out another one today. Before that happens, they are going to take the Marathon servers down temporarily across all platforms.

Players will be unable to connect to the game, partake in matches or even access the menus once this kicks off.

It’ll be a for a few hours, and once we’re near the downtime ending, we should see update 1.1.0.5 released.

Marathon Down for the Second Time This Week on July 9

Thursday, July 9, 2026 — Scheduled Maintenance for Update 1.1.0.5

9:00 AM PDT	UTC-7	Marathon will undergo maintenance. Sign-on will be unavailable. Players actively in runs will be able to complete them.
10:15 AM PDT	UTC-7	Marathon will begin being brought offline for expected maintenance. Players will start being removed from activities.
11:00 AM PDT	UTC-7	The latest Marathon update is expected to become available across all platforms and regions.
12:00 PM PDT	UTC-7	Players are expected to be able to log back into Marathon.* Players logging into the game may be placed in a queue and may experience sign-on issues as background maintenance is still ongoing.
1:00 PM PDT	UTC-7	Marathon maintenance is expected to conclude. Console players who encounter issues updating should restart their console and try downloading the update. Players who observe issues should report to the Marathon Help Forum.

Given the timing of today’s patch, don’t expect this to be a big one, since it’ll be focused on fixing issues. Once the changelog is out, expect it here on MP1st.
