Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced – How to Unlock 60 FPS Cutscenes
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is now available to gamers worldwide, and although it’s an impressive remake, there is one area where the game may feel a bit dated: the cutscenes. Despite supporting frame rates well above 60 FPS in-game, Ubisoft seems to have followed Assassin’s Creed Shadows‘ lead, with cutscenes locked to 30 FPS.
Luckily, there’s an easy fix, though it does introduce some oddities.
Lyall Assassin’s Creed Shadows Mod Works on Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced

For those diving into Ubisoft’s latest Assassin’s Creed game, Black Flag Resynced, on PC, you may have noticed the cutscenes looking a bit “choppy.” No, it’s likely not your hardware causing the issues; rather, it’s Ubisoft’s decision to use 30 FPS for in-game cutscenes, despite allowing higher FPS during gameplay.
While we understand the “cinematic” choice behind it, it comes off as rather jarring, jumping from an FPS much higher than the cutscenes and making us think our performance might be dipping.
The good news is that there’s already a mod to fix this, originally intended for Assassin’s Creed Shadows. We’re of course talking about Lyall’s ACShadowsFix, which is also compatible with Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced.
To get started, all you have to do is download the latest release here: ACShadowsFix, then unzip the file in the installation folder of Assassin’s Creed (Ubisoft Connect app – Drive name/Ubisoft Game Launcher/games/Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced).
Once you’ve done that, you can open the ACShadowsFix.ini file and edit your settings. Because this fix was built for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, there are some issues, such as clothing material tweaking out in cutscenes and some flickering lighting effects. I would also suggest disabling the Intro Skip option (set to false) in the .ini file, as it seems the game won’t boot with that enabled. Otherwise, cutscenes will run at 60 FPS rather than 30 FPS, which, in my opinion, looks way better.
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is now available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
