Grand Theft Auto 6 might be the game almost everyone is talking about, but Warhorse co-founder Martin Klima doesn’t really see what all the excitement is about.

In fact, he says the GTA series “doesn’t appeal to me at all” and that he “fails to understand” why it is so popular.

That doesn’t mean he isn’t hoping Rockstar’s next game will have a major effect on the rest of the industry, though. Klima wants GTA 6 to set an example by opening the door for publishers to charge higher prices for games.

Speaking to PC Gamer in a recent interview, Klima made it clear that Rockstar’s series isn’t really for him.

“The Grand Theft Auto series doesn’t appeal to me at all,” Klima said. “I am not going to be playing GTA 6 unless I’m somehow forced to. And the reason why it is so popular—it beats me. It’s something which I just fail to understand.”

Still, Klima has some praise for Rockstar. “It’s really good that somebody is making these games that are really technologically marvels,” he said. More importantly, he hopes GTA 6 can do something that other publishers have been afraid to do and push game prices higher.

“The last thing you can do is to increase the unit price. That would help a lot, but everybody’s scared to death about it. Now, hopefully, GTA will blaze the trail, and it will allow us to increase the cost,” he added. “Rockstar and Take-Two are the only ones who can afford, or who can dare, to increase the price of games, which I think is long overdue and also necessary for this business to survive.”

Nonetheless, we’ll soon find out whether GTA 6 actually helps make higher game prices the norm. The game is set to launch on November 19 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
