Report: Forza Horizon 6 for PS5 Races Out on January 26, 2027
Released for the Xbox Series X|S and PC this May, the racing game will be available on PS5 early next year, claims a new report.
While gamers might have assumed that Microsoft is pulling back on all Xbox console exclusives given what happened to Gears of War: E-Day, that doesn’t seem to be the case.
This new report comes from a reliable source, even if it’s not a direct confirmation by Microsoft or Sony.
Forza Horizon 6 PS5 Version Is Still a Go
The report comes from reliable leaker billbil-kun (via dealabs), who claims that Forza Horizon 6 will be available on the PS5 on January 26, 2027.
Players can expect the racing game to be available on both digital and physical (disc), and will be sold €69.99 in Europe and €59.99 in the UK, or at $70 in the US.
The report also claims that the official announcement is expected this week, with pre-orders opening on the same day as the announcement.
Since its release, Forza Horizon 6 has received steady support from developer Playground Games. It’s currently sitting at an impressive 90 score on Metacritic, with over 70 reviews giving it “universal acclaim.”
PS5 racing fans can now breathe a sigh of relief, as the title seems to still be PS5-bound, even with Xbox CEO Asha Sharma’s push for more console exclusives for Microsoft’s gaming platform. While still a rumor and unofficial, billbil-kun has been very accurate when it comes to retail leaks, and we don’t expect things to change for this one.
With Forza Horizon 6’s heavy multiplayer component, it seems logical to release the title on competing platforms. Having said that, in July, Xbox Game Studios boss Matt Booty mentioned that not every single-player game will be an Xbox exclusive, suggesting we might see more narrative-driven Xbox games on Sony’s platform.
Another major gaming IP owned by Microsoft that we’re unsure whether we’ll see on Sony’s platform again is Halo. With Microsoft appointing Activision as the new company heading development for the franchise, it’s a toss-up for now whether we’ll see this in-development project will be released outside Xbox and PC.
