GTA 6 Fans Get Australian Government Guidance on Taking Time Off Work for Launch Day
The huge excitement surrounding GTA 6 will push many fans to take time off work so they can fully enjoy Rockstar’s highly anticipated title from day one.
The Australian government is fully aware of this and wants to make sure workers request time off correctly, avoiding sudden and unexplained absences.
The Fair Work Ombudsman, the Australian body responsible for regulating workplace relations, is providing guidance to players on how to legally request unpaid leave for the launch of GTA 6.
Australian Government Explains How GTA 6 Fans Can Take Time Off Work for Launch Day

The post published on Instagram, although written in a humorous tone, explains the country’s labour laws by imagining a situation in which the game comes out tomorrow. It explains that gamers can request general unpaid leave only with their employer’s approval.
Several types of unpaid leave are excluded as valid reasons in this situation, including leave to care for family members, volunteer work, or parental reasons. Since no other category of unpaid leave applies to the launch of GTA 6, Australian workers without paid leave will have to rely on their employers’ approval.
It’s also worth noting that workers do not have to disclose why they are taking normal annual leave, though employers can refuse requests if too many staff members ask off at the same time due to business needs
Although the post has a joking tone, GTA 6 is getting plenty of attention in other countries too. In Norway, a retailer is even offering a free copy of the game to parents whose baby is born on its release day.
In other news, a new GTA 6 leak from Cyberleek reveals 25 mins of gameplay footage featuring Jason, Lucia, mud racing, character customization, and more. In addition, GTA 6 radio stations preview has been revealed, as on-demand podcasts will be introduced in the game and can be listened to even on-foot.
