Blood of Dawnwalker Next Update

Last month, Rebel Wolves mentioned that we’ll be receiving the first major update for The Blood of Dawnwalker in “early October.”

While the first half of the month has come and gone, we haven’t seen any update for the action-RPG — much less a major one. Well, that’s changing next week, as the developers have finally confirmed that this major patch, which will bring it to The Blood of Dawnwalker update version 1.1, will be rolled out!

This brings new features, improvements and a lot more, which might warrant a second (or third playthrough) for some.

The Blood of Dawnwalker’s Version 1.1 Arrives With Draught of Mind Rebirth Mode

NEW FEATURES:

Draught of Mind Rebirth

Free your mind with the Draught of Mind Rebirth. Forget all your Swordmastery, Witchcraft, and Vampirism abilities, and use the time you spent learning them to master a different set of abilities.

Petting animals

What happens when you merge a directional combat system with an ability to pet dogs and cats?

Directional. Animal Petting.

Update to the Story mode

Pick between the Forgiving game difficulty (previously called Story) and a new Story mode with additional combat assists.

Additional subtitle settings

Increase the font size and enable subtitles for ALL dialogue lines.

CHANGES AND IMPROVEMENTS:

FrameGen update

Update to the FrameGen technology, including dedicated settings.

Camera improvements

Adjusted animations and camera movements in combat.

Combat improvements

Improved targeting, locking onto, and disengaging from enemies.

Traversal improvements

Better responsiveness of targeting and attaching to surfaces when using Shadowstep and Planeshift.

Japanese version update

Blood and gore will no longer be censored in the Japanese version of the game on Steam.

Rebel Wolves adds that this patch houses over 1,100 improvements and fixes, which should be welcome news to gamers.

In related news, the sequel is already in development, as the devs have publicly started hiring for the “next chapter.”

If you haven’t picked the RPG up yet, check out our review where we state, “In The Blood of Dawnwalker, Rebel Wolves gambled on a new IP and didn’t hold back in their ambition. Thankfully, it has paid off in spades, and from the looks of it, this is the start of a new RPG franchise.”
