The Blood of Dawnwalker 2 Already Underway as Devs Start Hiring for “Next Chapter”
Even before The Blood of Dawnwalker was released, the developers at Rebel Wolves had already confirmed they had sequels planned, with the franchise spanning centuries across different cultures.
It seems work on the sequel is already starting, and we’re not even a full week since the game’s release. This is something confirmed by the developers today, as they start hiring for The Blood of Dawnwalker 2.
Again, we are barely a week from the game’s release, though given how successful the game has been, it’s not really that surprising.
The Blood of Dawnwalker Sequel Confirmed, as Rebel Wolves Start Hiring for It
In a post on LinkedIn, Rebel Wolves Narrative Director Jakub Szamalek posted on his wall on how the studio is not resting on their laurels after the game’s critical success, and confirmation of the action-RPG’s sales already at a million units sold in less than three days since release.
The developer said, “The Blood of Dawnwalker released to critical acclaim and sold over one million copies in the opening weekend. But! We’re not resting on our laurels – no, siree! We’re already thinking about comes next. And so! Drum roll please! I’m looking for a Lead Writer to help me and the narrative team craft the next chapter in the Dawnwalker saga.”
If you think you’ve got the chops to be part of this new RPG franchise’s dev team, you can apply now.
With The Blood of Dawnwalker featuring multiple endings, I’m curious to see whether Rebel Wolves just lets players take on their own ending as the canon one, or whether the devs have an “official” ending that they’re going with. It’s also confirmed that choices players make in the first game will carry over to the sequels.
While sequel talk is already underway, don’t expect this anytime soon, as Rebel Wolves has a ton of work ahead of them in terms of bug fixing and even releasing their promised free smaller DLCs.
We’re expecting a patch to be released soon to tackle the technical bugs that are plaguing both consoles and PC. Even if that’s the case, it’s not enough to detract from the game’s overall experience. Check out our review to see why we think this is a solid Game of the Year contender, as we state, ”
In The Blood of Dawnwalker, Rebel Wolves gambled on a new IP and didn’t hold back in their ambition. Thankfully, it has paid off in spades, and from the looks of it, this is the start of a new RPG franchise. It might not have the same notoriety as The Witcher series for now, but if Rebel Wolves can produce the sequels with the same level of quality, then The Blood of Dawnwalker might just be the next great RPG series.”
