Activision Announces Call of Duty: Ghosts Upgrade Plan for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4

If you’re dead set on getting Call of Duty: Ghosts on the PlayStation 3 this November 5, but are concerned over dropping the extra cash for a PlayStation 4 version down the road, Sony and Activision have a plan you may be interested in.

Today, Activision has announced an upgrade plan, similar to plans already announced by retailers like Amazon and GameStop for the Xbox 360 and Xbox One versions, that will allow gamers to upgrade their PS3 version of Call of Duty: Ghosts to the PS4 for a limited time at a low cost of only $10 USD.

“Today we’re announcing that anyone who buys Call of Duty: Ghosts for the PS3 will be able to upgrade to Call of Duty: Ghosts for the PS4 for a limited time at a suggested retail price of just 10 dollars, 10 euros or 10 pounds,” said Eric Hirshberg, CEO of Activision Publishing, Inc. “Retail programs, announced by Amazon and GameStop allow our players to upgrade from the Xbox 360 to the Xbox One version of Call of Duty: Ghosts for $10 as well.

As previously announced during the game’s global multiplayer reveal, Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg confirmed that “for a limited time our players will bring all of their Season Pass Content and all of their in-game progress with them within a console family, for no additional charge.” That, along with the $10 upgrade plan should make the transition over to next-consoles a fairly smooth one for both PlayStation and Xbox gamers.

With that in mind, where whill you be purchasing Call of Duty: Ghosts first?
