Although Xbox has been a little light on marketing its next big game, Avowed, they seem confident in its release as they’ve sent out review codes two weeks before launch, with the review embargo lifting the same day as early access.

A review period similar to Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

Avowed Review Embargo Lifts the Same Day Everyone Gets to Play It In Early Access

As confirmed by many online creators and outlets across social platforms, Avowed is now available for review. According to many social postings, reviews will be available on February 13th at 9 a.m. ET/3 p.m. BST. This gives reviewers two weeks of access, with reviews available the same day early access begins. Screenshots, including one provided to us, were shared online, showing the game’s main title screen.

Avowed was originally supposed to launch last year, but due to the busy holiday season, it was delayed to February 2025. With Xbox being rather quiet about the game, many started to assume the worst: another delay was going to happen. But with it in the hands of reviewers, we can probably put those worries to rest, as this essentially confirms that the game has gone “gold” or, if not, should be going gold soon.

In development by Obisidian Entertainment, Avowed is a first-person fantasy RPG, with the story detailed as: “You are the envoy of Aedyr, a distant land, sent to investigate rumors of a spreading plague throughout the Living Lands – an island full of mysteries and secrets, danger and adventure, and choices and consequences, and untamed wilderness. You discover a personal connection to the Living Lands and an ancient secret that threatens to destroy everything. Can you save this unknown frontier and your soul from the forces threatening to tear them asunder?”

Avowed will officially launch on February 18 for all non-early access buyers and will be available on Xbox Series X|S and PC.

Same as the controlled nonsense with Starfield. Let me guess, there won’t be anymore than 60 reviews allowed when it lifts.
