Baldur’s Gate 3 Crossplay Actively Being Worked on by Larian, Patch 7 to Bring Improved Evil Endings

Baldur's Gate 3 Crossplay

Those looking to play Baldur’s Gate 3 with their friends on other platforms, that dream is still alive, as Larian Studios confirmed that Baldur’s Gate 3 crossplay and Photo Mode are still actively being worked on, though the studio can’t give a timeframe on when it’ll be available.

According to Larian, the work required to bring these two features into BG3 will likely be “further down the road,” as the studio is also working on the next major update for the game. Speaking of which, we’ve also gotten a rundown of what to expect from Baldur’s Gate 3’s Patch 7. While these aren’t the patch notes, it does give us a look at what to expect from the title update.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 7 Preview:

Larian states that players can expect improved evil endings in Patch 7, which will come with new cinematic cutscenes! Check out a quick snippet below

(Spoiler Warning!!!)

Per Larian: “We’re working on our next game update, Patch 7, which will add improved evil endings to the game for even darker conclusions to your most sinister playthroughs, and yes, that includes you non-Durge players.”

The studio adds that these new cinematic cutscenes have been given the musical treatment from the studio’s BAFTA award-winning composer, Borislav Slavov.

Alongside the evil endings improvement, players can also expect the following from Patch 7:

Aims to fix several bug fixes including:

  • Jaheira’s unwillingness to follow the group and jump into combat
  • Wyll’s less-than-romantic greetings
  • Disappearing Narrator lines from Gortash and Dark Urge confrontation

There are more bugs fixes included and these are just the tip of the iceberg.

BG3 Patch 7 will also introduce official modding tools, which will let players change up visuals, animations, sounds, stats and more to shape the Baldur’s Gate 3 to your own liking.

Beyond this patch, Larian confirmed that they are working on more bug fixes, performance enhancements to deliver the best gaming experience to players.

Also of note, the studio also reiterated in today’s Community Update that they have moved on from the Dungeons & Dragons franchise, and there are no plans to release any major new narrative content, which is something the studio announced before as well.

Even without Larian Studios, Wizards of the Coast, the owner of the Baldur’s Gate IP, is keen to move forward with the franchise.

Once Patch 7 releases, we’ll be sure to let our readers know. Bookmark our Baldur’s Gate 3 game hub for our latest articles on the RPG.
