Battlefield 2042 Tech Test Feedback Sees Falck Nerf; Hit Indicator Colors Match Where You Hit Enemies

battlefield 2042

While the Battlefield 2042 beta hasn’t even kicked off yet, DICE is already making changes to Specialists, and it’s based on Tech Test feedback! In a series of tweets, DICE Global Community Manager Adam Freeman mentioned that Falck will be getting a nerf since her Syrette Pistol Specialty was a bit too overpowered, given it originally had the ability both heal and revive comrades at range.

Here’s the tweet, as well as the tweets in text form for an easier read.

Later today we’ll have MOAR gameplay snippets for you and your first real look at Boris, Casper, Mackay, and Falck🎬👀 #BATTLEFIELD

Ahead of that – wanted to give you a heads up on a change we’ve made to Falck based on findings from our Technical Playtest last month

A big finding was that Falck’s S21 Syrette Pistol was causing a significant enough imbalance in gameplay to warrant making some changes.

Previously we shared that Falck’s Gadget would Revive, and Heal at Range.

Going forward the gadget will simply Heal at Range, and not Revive.

Balancing games is fun! We love learning when we move into new environments and we’re excited for the things that we’ll learn this month with our Open Beta

Expect us to be plenty transparent about how things are performing and the balance changes we’ll make across 2042.

In another tweet, DICE Gameplay Designer Florian Le Bihan commented on how hit indicators in the game are now assigned a color based on what kind of damage it does. While it’s a work in progress (WIP), Le Bihan confirmed in a separate post on Reddit that players will have options to customize the hit and kill indicators, and even the crosshairs.

Yellow is headshot, blue is armor hit. Those hit indicators are super WIP and will change for Open Beta, will change even more at launch alongside other things that make the hit & kill confirm feedback

That’s definitely good news, as we now know if we’re damaging an armored enemy or not, and so on.

Hopefully, we’ll be getting beta info this coming week. We are looking forward to more gameplay, as more Specialists are yet to be revealed. Speaking of which, check out gameplay and the Specialty and Traits of four Specialists right here.
