Battlefield 2042 Update 6.2 Out Next Week, Lis Nerf Incoming and DICE Explains Why No BF Portal in AOW

Battlefield 2042 Update 6.2

While we already know that Battlefield 2042 is getting an update in “early December,” we now know just when to expect the BF2042 update 6.2 download, and it’s next week! This was revealed by DICE in a new podcast where the topic was vehicles.

During the conversation, DICE revealed that we should be getting the official patch notes this Friday (December 1), with the patch expected to be released on Tuesday (December 5).

Battlefield 2042’s Lis is Getting a Nerf!

In addition to that, the studio confirmed that Lis is getting a nerf! According to DICE, the Engineer is “too strong” and “negatively impacts” the many vehicles the studio has added since Season 1. Apparently, Lis is a little too “air focused” and DICE will veer the character towards more ground targets and pull her a little bit further from the “air stuff.”

It seems the devs think Lis is too powerful against all vehicles, but they want to make her more targeted to specific vehicles after the nerf. Per the conversation in the podcast, this nerf is incoming so Lis doesn’t “dominate” by herself taking down vehicles, and it should open up the the window for the other engineers.

DICE on Why There Are No Battlefield Portal Vehicles in All-Out Warfare (AOW):

Elsewhere in the podcast, DICE explained why they can’t pluck vehicles from Battlefield Portal and just transport them into All-Out Warfare, as the studio does with some of the Portal weapons.

Here’s the exact explanation by DICE (edited for clarity):

So first one, why do we have weapons coming from Portal, but not vehicles? What can we answer there? Yeah. So. I think Portal weapons are definitely easier to bring over into All-Out Warfare. There’s there’s less differences, although we did have to make some changes into handling. So it’s it’s a bigger deal to bring a vehicle over.

We’ve talked about this a lot, like, what would we bring over? I think it needs to be, it needs to have a role within the All-Out Warfare roster. So there’s certain vehicles, like the Warthog that could really shine. So it’s, we’re not against it. It’s just a case of like where it fits within all of the other stuff to do.

Okay. and there’s, there’s more work than you’d imagine for Eddie and the team to bring them over and then do the updates that are needed. It’s not a straightforward copy paste. No, I wish it was. So to summarize, not a copy paste, a lot of work goes into making sure they fit, you know, in the current gameplay of BF2042.

Well, there you have it. Once the official BF2042 update 6.2 patch notes are out, we’ll be sure to let our readers know.

For those playing as Lis, do you think what DICE is doing is fair or should they let the character be dominant against air vehicles given that’s what she was created for? Sound off and let us know down in the comments what you think, update goes live. Um, you know, does it play differently than they expect? But it helps us, um, I guess be aware and stay vigilant in knowing which, which further changes need to take place.

Once again, it sounds like helicopter and aircraft dudes are crying because it is not as easy to go 150-1 in a match. I fly the chopper a bit and I have ZERO problem with Liz. It is not that easy to land the TV missile. So, if I am not moving, I will get hit. Big deal. U don’t die in real life. Leave her alone. So now they want idiots to try and lock on with AA rocket??? Lol. Good luck with that.

IF they want to nerf Lis, fine, but at least reduce the flares active time, or increase the cooldown, because AA rockets is useless against a good pilot, they just flare, hide and wait it reload. SOmetimes they dont even need to flare.

Also, buff the lock on from snipers to work like BF4, making the missile go up before chase the target.
