While Battlefield 6 is the best-selling premium title of 2025, that wasn’t enough to stop the bloodshed as publisher Electronic Arts still laid off developers across Battlefield Studios, which is comprised of DICE, Ripple Effect, Criterion and Motive Studio.

Apparently, even if that’s the case, the first-person shooter did well enough to hit “all milestones” set forth by the publisher to award their executives very handsome bonuses.

These bonuses are more than enough to cover literally hundreds of people’s jobs, which might not sit well with people.

Battlefield 6 Achieves “All Milestones” for EA Execs to Get Huge, Multi-million Bonuses, but Not Enough to Save Jobs

According to a new 10-K filing by publisher Electronic Arts that it must disclose to the SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission), EA’s CEO and other execs took home multi-million-dollar bonuses for Battlefield 6 achieving “all milestones.”

EA CEO Andrew Wilson managed to bag $38.7 million for the 2026 financial year. It’s not just Wilson who got the bag, as Laura Miele (President of EA Entertainment) took home $13.7M, Stuart Canfield (Chief Financial Officer) received $11.3M, Jake Schatz (Chief Legal Officer) got $8.4M, and Mala Singh (Chief People Officer) received $8.3M. The execs received the sum across both bonuses and stock awards.

The company’s business performance was outlined too and mentioned:

For Battlefield 6, it mentions “achieved meeting all milestones for a high-quality launch of Battlefield 6 with positive critical reviews and stable services and gameplay, with interim milestones related to future launches being met.”

While bonuses being awarded to executives is nothing new, it’s worth noting that in March, EA confirmed that the four development houses under Battlefield Studios suffered layoffs as part of a “realignment.”

No specific number was released on how many people were affected, but EA did release an official statement.

We’ve made select changes within our Battlefield organization to better align our teams around what matters most to our community. Battlefield remains one of our biggest priorities, and we’re continuing to invest in the franchise, guided by player feedback and insights from Battlefield Labs.”

I’m not a corporate executive or a financial analyst, but I surmise that these bonuses could have probably saved some of the jobs that were cut, and this just paints a bad picture of how game development and corporate look.

In other Battlefield 6 news, Season 4 was launched last week, and it seems like it’s a massive success based on player feedback.
