Ahead of next month’s release, Battlefield Studios have revealed the resolution and performance modes for Battlefield 6 for those playing on consoles PS5, PS5 Pro, Xbox Series X|S)

The good news? Quality mode on all platforms will be running at a smooth 60 frames-per-second (fps).

For those wondering what the target framerate for Battlefield 6 is going to be on console when it launches next month, wonder no more, as the studio confirmed recently that every platform will have a 60fps mode. This was revealed in a recent interview with the game’s Technical Director, Christian Buhl, where he spoke in detail as to what console players can expect. He confirmed that there will be both a quality and a performance mode on the PS5, PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series X, where the Xbox Series S will instead have a single mode. Here’s what it’s looking like on each platform:

Battlefield 6 Performance on PS5, Xbox Series Consoles

PlayStation 5

  • Fidelity Mode: 1440p at 60fps
  • Performance Mode: 1280p at 70 FPS – 110fps

PlayStation 5 Pro

  • Fidelity Mode: 2160p at 60fps
  • Performance Mode: 1620p at 60 FPS – 120fps

Xbox Series X

  • Fidelity Mode: 1440p at 60fps
  • Performance Mode: 1280p at 70fps – 110fps

Xbox Series S

  • A single mode that runs at 1080p at 60fps

It’s unsurprising to see Battlefield 6 running at 60fps on every platform, as it would be rather odd to have a 30fps experience for an online shooter. Still, the confirmation is nice to have, and seeing that the studio has managed to implement the performance mode should make those with VRR TVs and monitors happy.

Let’s just hope the game can hold a solid 60fps, though there’s not much reason to believe it won’t, considering the previous beta test already ran at a pretty solid frame rate. We’re assuming this will be the same case for the newly announced Battlefield 6 Battle Royale mode, though that, of course, can change depending on whether the scope of the mode is much more demanding than the base game.

Another good news for console gamers is the confirmation that Battlefield 6 will feature console-only crossplay, contrary to earlier reports.

It won’t be long before we all dive back into the warzone, as Battlefield 6 launches on October 10, 2025, for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. As a reminder, Battlefield 6 will also be making an appearance at the Tokyo Game Show event to debut some new single-player footage, so keep an eye out for that later this month!
