Battlefield 6’s Latest Update on November 11 Breaks PS5 Version, But There Is a Fix
With today’s client-side update for Battlefield 6 now live (which will show up as version 1.000.005), it has seemingly broken the PS5 version of the game.
After downloading the 750 MB update, players will be unable to access any part of the game, as it will ask for files to be installed. The issue is that these files are already installed, which means players are essentially locked out from playing any part of the game (yes, even the Campaign).
We can attest to this first-hand that this is happening right now. Thankfully, there is a fix though one that might not be obvious. to most gamers.
Battlefield 6’s New PS5 Update Virtually Makes the Game Unplayable
After updating the game client, I was unable to load multiplayer or anything from the main menu. This is something DICE is aware of, as the devs mention, “Note for PlayStation players: After installing the update, you may temporarily see installed content as missing. This will resolve shortly. Thank you for your patience.”
However, even after waiting for more than 10 minutes, the game is still unplayable. So what can you do to play it? It’s a simple solution though one that might not be obvious to most. PS5 players should go to the home screen, check the options for Battlefield 6 and “Restore License.” Once you’ve done this, you’ll then see more update data released, and once you’ve downloaded and installed these, it should work as intended.
Please note that multiple data packs need to be downloaded and installed, so please be patient. We can confirm that once you’ve installed all the packs, the game should work as intended.
If you’ve encountered this bug or know someone who has, share the article and let them know. Hopefully, this is the last technical hiccup associated with today’s title update.
In other Battlefield 6 news, did you know there is a daily XP cap in the game? It’s quite high but someone managed to hit it, and they are not happy.
