Bloober Expects “Significant Profit” From Cronos: The New Dawn; No Sequel or DLC in Development But It’s Not Ruled Out
A month has passed since the release of Bloober Team’s new IP, Cronos: The New Dawn, with its opening weekend seeing over 200,000 units sold. Although we haven’t received an update on sales figures since, Bloober itself is calling the game a “huge success” for the studio, with expectations that it will pay off in the future.
Not only that, but Bloober expects a “significant profit” from the new horror IP, though failed to give specific numbers.
Although critics and fans have generally been positive about the game in terms of reviews, it seems that the studio is in no rush to work on any DLC or a sequel, although it’s not ruling out the possibility of doing so down the road.
There’s Hope for a Cronos Sequel

Speaking during the Q&A section of their recent investor call, Bloober Team’s CEO, Piotr Babieno, and Vice President, Karolina Nowak, briefly discussed the game’s success and commented on the potential for a sequel. While the studio is undoubtedly shifting its hands over to the development of the Silent Hill Remake, there is hope that they’ll come back to Cronos, as sales have already been a “huge” success.
“Overall, however, the Cronos launch was a huge success, which will pay off in the future, both in terms of profits and our market position,” the team said during the chat.
Despite that, they confirmed that there is no active development on either DLC or a sequel, but aren’t ruling that out.
“At the moment, apart from marketing updates, the company is not actively working on development (neither a sequel nor DLC), but we do not rule it out in the future and we are definitely thinking about developing this IP.”
When we sat down with the studio back in August for an exclusive interview, they joked about wanting not only a sequel, but a trilogy for the series. Of course, that was a joke, as they couldn’t predict just how well the game would do back then, but it did show signs of interest that they wanted the IP to be bigger than just a single game.
With the studio being split into two teams, working on multiple projects simultaneously, we think there’s a good chance for them to come back after a few other games are released. Either way, we think the future of the franchise looks promising, and we cannot wait to see what the series has in store for us when it hopefully returns. For now, we’ll have the Silent Hill Remake to look forward to.
