The report we published last week was true: Bloober Team’s next project has indeed been revealed at Summer Game Fest.
It is shaping up to be a great night for horror fans. After revealing Alien: Isolation 2 and Resident Evil Code: Veronica, Summer Game Fest has now revealed SAW Genesis, a new multiplayer game set in the world of SAW, published by Bloober Team.
Rumors about a new game based on the popular horror franchise had been circulating for some time, but the announcement during Summer Game Fest finally made it official.
SAW Genesis Announced at Summer Game Fest 2026
Published by Bloober Team and developed by Broken Mirror Games and Anshar Studios, SAW Genesis is a 3v1 multiplayer horror game that serves as a prequel to the movie series.
The game takes place shortly after World War I and introduces a killer known as The Judge, whose philosophy is very similar to that of John Kramer, the famous Jigsaw Killer from the films.
Each match features three players taking on the role of the “accused,” while a fourth player controls The Judge. The Judge’s goal is to make survival as difficult as possible through deadly traps and other tricks.
One of the game’s key features is its procedural maps, which means matches will be different each time players enter a game.
At the moment, SAW Genesis has only been announced for PC and will launch in Early Access via Steam. The developers have not yet revealed a release window. However, the trailer confirmed that players can already sign up for an upcoming closed beta.
