Bungie Confirms New Location for Destiny Beta

At least one of three brand new locations have been confirmed to be featured in Destiny’s upcoming Beta on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.

Over the weekend, developer Bungie highlighted two screen shots of new locations that weren’t previously up for exploration in Destiny’s Fist Look Alpha. Little was provided in the way of context then, but a recent tweet from the studio confirms what looks like a location on Mars to be playable in the Beta.

Having been published as a pair, we can likely assume that players will also be able to explore this mysterious Earth-like area:

DestinyLastly, coordinates discovered on the Beta’s official website points to Earth’s Moon as another location unlocked for the Beta. Part of the Moon was playable in the Destiny Alpha, but as a Crucible PvP map, making exploration rather difficult.

Of the three new locations hinted at so far, we’re not certain which ones will be Crucible arenas and which ones will be fully-explorable areas. Either way, we’ll learn more “on an auspicious date in the very near future,” says Bungie.

Destiny’s Beta launches first on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 on July 17, coming to Xbox One and Xbox 360 shortly after.
