Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Likely to be GameStop’s “Biggest Game Launch of All Time”

The Call of Duty franchise is well on its way to breaking records yet again this fall.

According to GameStop president Tony Bartel, “consumer anticipation for Call of Duty: Black Ops II is tremendous. We are seeing the highest pre-orders in history. With its current pace, this Call of Duty is on track to break records and is likely to be our biggest game launch of all time.”

We asked the question, ‘could Black Ops II be the best Call of Duty yet?’ earlier in our hands-on multiplayer preview. Unsurprisingly, day-one pre-orders for Black Ops II were three times higher than that of the original, according to Amazon, while hype rose up to 400% after Black Ops II’s initial reveal.

Only a few days ago, Activision and Treyarch announced a Call of Duty: Black Ops II Season Pass, along with Elite becoming a free service. Those who pre-order the game will receive the free, re-imagined classic multiplayer map, Nuketown 2025.

Is there no end in sight for Call of Duties record breaking numbers? Do you have your pre-order secure? Are you pre-purchasing the Black Ops II Season Pass or waiting it out? Let’s hear your thoughts in the comments below!
