I think near-futuristic CoD is definetly a good step in the right direction after so many non creative modern era games. After that the changes to skin-collabs for BO7 is also a good direction for it.

I’m excited to play a new creative game that is not same Modern CoD we have been playing since MW19 came out tbh lol

Well, I bought the Bo6 after seeing the initial presentation. That game had features, style and promising start. But the ongoing service was shite. Not really feeling that much excited by the promise of another similar experience but the future direction always had a strong reason for me. Maybe keeping closer to Bo2 is the way to be successful here.

They need to give IW permission to do what they want and stop adding silly cosmetics.

Well, I personally do not think it will hurt them much, BF 6 does look pretty good. But maybe playing the beat will convince me.

I am on a home Vacation, so it will give me something else to do.

I think call of duty needs to create a “classic” game mode. (Pick 10 system, no omni movement, etc.) The people who complain will never touch it and the ones who enjoy it will solely play it.

Honestly CoD will be fine, as long as it has a strong story and solid MP it’ll be cool. The rest will blow over like it always does

How you think Call of Duty can recover from its recent downturn? Going completely free to play!!!

Two things:

1. Reduce SBMM, they don’t even need to remove it, just tone it down quite a bit.

2. No cartoons, it put of a lot of players this year, myself included.

Also I’m liking this yearly tradition 😀

Stop releasing yearly. Turn down SBMM, or have SBMM free servers. Stay true to universe lore with cosmetics. Add destruction to compete with BF.

With the live action trailer BF6 released, Activision just got slapped right on the face big time. Listening to audience is one thing yes. But it is call of duty. I believe people would still play it no matter how they seem to hate the game prior to its release. The question is how they maintain their daily active player count. The big chip lies on how they manage the micro contents they release, bug fixes, their answer to the cheats ruining the game over and over again and the boots on the ground- realistic action type of gameplay they should stick to. In short? Give us what Battlefield 6 is offering this year.

I think seriouss innovation is needed like mw2019 and reduce the fatigue by moving away from yearly releases.

Honestly I feel like as long as it doesn’t feel like a modern warfare game and feels like a black ops game I think it will be a pretty good game. Another thing that I also think they need to do is either remove sbmm or reduce it but other than that I think it will do just fine.

COD can definitely return from it’s current downturn by listening to the community feedback and making all the necessary adjustments it can. My twitter is DBSxFanZz

I think CoD needs to just remember what made them so popular in the first place…
Everyone loved so much of games like BO2 and the early MW series, there was a lot of nice gunplay, well thought out maps (we see them come back in every game), and probably PEAK Ranked Play in BO2, where not every single weapon was banned which makes it just some ARs and SMGs and that’s it. If I wanna run anything stupid or off Meta I can’t even do that anymore!

Focus on the fundamentals: classic 3-lane map design, simplified perks, and a fast, fun, arcadey feel. Less complexity, more pure CoD. Can’t wait for the beta

Call of Duty has endured setbacks before, but it has always managed to rebound. What makes the current moment different is that the developers are openly recognizing the problems and taking tangible steps to address them—improving anti-cheat systems, toning down over-the-top cosmetic skins, and returning to the core themes that originally defined the series. With the franchise’s financial resources, massive player base, and globally recognized brand, the potential for a strong comeback is undeniable.
If the promises surrounding Black Ops 7 are fulfilled—and the company shifts from exploiting the franchise for profit to genuinely revitalizing it—the community will respond. Players want Call of Duty to succeed; they just need a reason to remain invested long-term rather than dropping off after a few weeks.

Call of duty needs to make the multiplayer more based off the campaign story line in terms of levels and atmosphere. This keep things grounded and not get so many crazy outfits . Honestly I also wish they would release a cod and work on it/update it year round as paying for a yearly title gets rough

I think call of duty needs to stop with the unrelated characters and skins. They need to listen more to the community as they do the opposite every single year.

The recent downturn of people playing Call of Duty is kinda depressing, since I remember when BO6 came out there was a bunch hype and potential and now the community has turned against them. I think this is mostly caused by the horrible post launch support with bad map design. And the constant unstabilty of the game ,since every update the game breaks. Which really is annoying ,since at times when im genuiely hyped for a new season just to find out I cant play it because of a bug thats been in the game for a week. Another thing I blame for the downturn is the voice chat ban system ,since it disencourages socialization in Call of Duty. Which makes the replay value alot worse since game to game experiance repetitive and less enjoyable.

I think they need to separate warzone from the base game and let them be managed by separate dev teams for a start better maps and they need to get rid of all the goofy cosmetics and blueprints lets get back to actually thinking of how to build a gun instead of buying the meta and warzone needs a hardcore mode as well

I think call of duty can maintain the lead for the most sold shooter game as long as they listen to fans. The consumers of this game are the ones that are playing it and we know what we like and what we don’t like. If they don’t listen to the community as a whole then this may be short lived. EA listened to the community and have turned everyone around. Everyone is ecstatic for Battlefield 6 and that’s because they listened to the community. The same can happen here if Activision listens to their fans.

Super hyped for Black Ops 7 — been a CoD fan since the original Black Ops, and the return of the Black Ops storyline has me hooked already. I play mostly on Xbox, so an early beta code would mean the world to me. I’d love to test out the new mechanics, give real feedback, and squad up with friends on day one. Thanks MP1st for doing this giveaway and keeping the CoD community pumped!

Been hooked on Black Ops since the very first one — the Cold War storyline is still one of my favorites. I’m on Xbox and can’t wait to dive into BO7 early to test the new mechanics, run with friends, and give solid feedback. I need this BO7 Xbox beta code like Richtofen needs voices in his head. Help a fellow operative out so I can secure the bag, rage at campers, and probably still get quickscoped by 12-year-olds. Much love to MP1st for making dreams (and rages) come true. Thanks MP1st for giving the community a chance to jump in early!

Player choices could affect the world. Call of Duty can win back its players by treating multiplayer like a living ecosystem. Instead of just dropping maps and guns, Treyarch could make each season feel like a ‘world event’ where player actions affect the battlefield globally. As an example, if one faction dominates, the next season could introduce environmental changes or story-driven consequences. This turns every match into a narrative experience, making each victory feel meaningful beyond XP and stats.

Adaptive difficulty using ai would be greatA huge way to recover is adding AI that learns from top players and fills empty lobbies. Imagine a bot system that mimics real player behavior: if you’re camping, the AI flanks; if you’re aggressive, it pushes hard. This keeps games fun for all skill levels and ensures no match ever feels boring or one-sided. Combine this with seasonal events tied to skill milestones, and even casual players feel progression without being crushed by pros.

Get grounded and get off this yearly cycle. Give the devs time to cook and actually think of / flesh out new ideas.

I think black ops 7 is honestly going in the right direction yes there are some things still that us consumers don’t like but I believe it’s going in the right direction obviously SBMM is a controversial thing and I believe that is gonna be the one thing that will hurt this game especially with the new wall bouncing cause the casual player just won’t be able to keep up with someone that plays for five hours everyday and grinds all day.Do I think this cod will be groundbreaking NO but I think this is the one year that cod will not be better then battlefield and I truly think them losing to EA for the first time will be a huge wake up call for Activision and us the consumers will get better call of dutys less skins and better games out of all of this and ultimately win out of all of this and have cod be great again.

If the core gameplay feels tight (gunplay, movement), the campaign delivers emotionally and mechanically, and the promised new modes (like Endgame) actually bring depth, this could be one of the stronger CoD titles in recent years.

But if it leans too hard into cosmetics over substance, or if the game feels like a retread of BO6 with minor tweaks, then it may underwhelm.

Wait for beta impressions (performance, gameplay feel) before deciding to buy full‑price.

Imo CoD can recover by focusing on consistent gameplay balance, reducing microtransactions, and listening closely to community feedback. A return to tighter, more grounded experiences would help rebuild trust and excitement. I’ve always loved the series, but the games are quite expensive for me to buy that often. Would love to give the beta a try first before purchasing.

I think that is that focus on a more realism based game that can redeem themselves. I love the wacky skins, especially for zombies, but I know I’m in the minority.

I was counting on DMZ being revived in the latest release, but much to my chagrin it was like being in Al-mazrah and calling for a revive from another team…. Eliminated.
