Cyberpunk 2077 Refunds Are Now Being Accepted by GameStop

Cyberpunk 2077 Update 1.21

The woes of CD Projekt Red’s latest game in Cyberpunk 2077 continue to grow, as a report by Kotaku now points out that GameStop is now accepting refunds for the game —  labeling it as “defective” and allowing customers to return it even if it’s opened already.

Here’s a tweet from Patrick Klepek corroborating the report and saying Gamestop has issued a memo allowing the game to be returned and refunded.

As one of the biggest video game, consumer, and electronic merchandise retailers in the US and its affiliates, GameStop joins the likes of PlayStation and Xbox who have already begun the process of refunding unhappy and disappointed customers who purchased the game digitally. Despite being delayed three times this year before making its December 10 launch date, Cyberpunk 2077 has been plagued with numerous bugs and glitches, which are most evident in the PS4 and Xbox One versions. CD Projekt Red has apologized and accepted responsibility for the numerous performance issues of the game — promising a fix with future patches and updates but also giving players who can’t wait the option to return the game and get a full refund immediately.

Cyberpunk 2077 is now available for PS4, Xbox One, Google Stadia, and PC, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions to follow some time next year.
