battlefield 6 bots matchmaking

If you’re seeing a ton of bots in Battlefield 6 matches, you’re not alone. This is an issue we’ve repeatedly brought up given it’s something that has not yet been resolved, and in most cases, is ignored by DICE completely.

This changed last week when DICE Lead Producer David Sirland finally commented on it, and gave a detailed explanation on why a lot of players outside the US are seeing bots in matches.

While there’s still no mention of a solution for this, Sirland has finally acknowledged that there are issues with bots invading matches in Battlefield 6.

Someone at DICE Finally Acknowldges There Are Issues With Battlefield 6 and Bots

Over on X (formerly Twitter), gamers from the Middle East have tagged various DICE developers about the bot situation. While some might assume that seeing bots in matches mean there are just not enough people playing in a certain region, our testing disproved that, given we’ve seen countless servers filled, and it’s more of how the matchmaking somehow locks certain regions/countries from matching properly with nearby areas.

As part of the conversation, one X user commented that it’s not due to player counts.”No actually there is enough players to fill many servers but the matchmaking algorithm is bad, If you watched the tournament that happened yesterday you will know that. Many times I join an empty match and I quit and reqeue and it get me in full match MM is bugged,” they state.

Sirland replied to it, stating, “That’s good information – I am certain there are issues with matchmaking that we do not track already, that’s the innate nature of the beast. I’d need more info of specifics so we could look into this. Next time you try, and this happens and you know there are enough players.”

While there’s no fix mentioned, or whether we’ll ever get one, the fact that someone at DICE finally acknowleged that there is an issue is a big win for most gamers affected by this. Let’s hope the dev team dives deep into it and find a solid solution. An eays one would be adding a proper server browser, but given it seems like we aren’t getting one, perhaps merging servers or letting people connect to other countries even with a high ping could fix this?

I am in the Eastern US. Jumped into 3 Conquest matches this morning. Two began from the very start, the third had been in progress mere minutes when I joined. All of them were about 50% bots. The second one I was in, which started from the beginning, we were in Firestorm. When we hit 34 players game did not immediately start. I saw something I had never seen before and I have played a lot. When we hit 34 players (32 required to begin) I suddenly saw ‘Populating with Bots’ and the number shot to 64 and the match started. Unbelievably annoying when bots are taking valuable vehicles and driving around like idiots. Attack helicopter are easy to shoot down but until you do they have an inhuman ability to hit you from distance with guns.
